What is the Badiu MReport Platform
The Badiu MReport Service Platform is a Moodle reporting system developed by Badiu. Its main purpose is to address Moodle's shortcomings in:
- Extraction of managerial reports;
- Monitoring / tracking of courses;
- Exporting and scheduling reports;
This system was launched in 2018 to replace the Badiu GMoodle system.
Here is a description of the main features and benefits that the MReport system can offer.

1- Monitor attrition
Through access and performance indicators, the system allows mapping absent students through scheduled reports that trigger automatic notifications. Thus, over the course of the course, it is possible to automatically map the tendency of attrition or dropout. This provides an opportunity to take preventive measures.
2- Monitor participation and performance
Through access and grade indicators, it is possible to schedule the sending of reports and notification messages to students. Thus, during the offering period, the following events can occur automatically:
- Notification to students with no access or low performance;
- Report sent to the tutor with the list of students with no access or low performance;
- Notification of tutors with no access;
- Report sent to coordinators with the list of tutors with no access to the course environment.
3- Detailed reports
MReport has more reporting options compared to the Moodle platform. See more details, at the link: https://comunidade.badiu.com.br/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=476
Report extraction in MReport is faster and more efficient than the Moodle Platform. Thus, its use brings significant gain to the distance education team.
4- Moodle Plugin
MReport works in Moodle as a plugin. Click here and follow the guidance on download and installation. This means that the reports are accessed and generated within Moodle. The plugin, to function, makes connection with the online service platform. It has the logic on the report issuing process. Instructions on issuing and formatting reports are on the Service Platform. It is up to Moodle to process the issuance and delivery of reports. Communication between Moodle and the service platform requires that the Moodle site be online. The plugin does not work on intranet or localhost installations. After installing the plugin, it is recommended to install an additional block plugin that facilitates the navigation process.
5- Customize reports via webservice
The reports issued by MReport can be customized. The service platform has a webservice and communication API for all reports. This allows changing the layout and structure of reports in Moodle. Using the API helps the technical team to focus on the client's business requirements, generating quick reports without wasting time with the complexity of Moodle's database architecture. To install the webservice plugin, click here and follow the instructions.
